👋 Howdy! I’m Matt and I ❤️ working with data to solve problems! I am an adjunct professor in Geospatial Data Science 🗺 and ML in the Masters of Urban Spatial Analytics (MUSA) graduate program at the University of Pennsylvania. While my academic training 📚 is in Quantitative Anthropology, most of skills have come from a diverse career working in industry from fieldwork 👨🌾 to global corporate digital strategy👨💼 and directing technical solutions👨💻. Mainly, I just love to write code to improve the world in whatever way I can!
Along with my socials, check out:
- 📖 Public Policy Analytics | Ken Steif’s fantastic book that I edit and maintain
- 👩🏫 MUSA Smartcities Practicum Projects | Capstone projects from my students
- 📦 klrfome - Kernel Logistic Regression on Focal Mean Embeddings | My R package for modeling and predicting spatial embeddings
- 📝 matthewdharris.com | Dated, but interesting posts from my past blog
When not looking at a screen, I am passionate about cooking, pasta making, BBQ/Smoking, and bread. To offset that passion, I am an avid runner (Strava) on road and trails, but more likely to be running after two small kids.
